Soft Play

Whether you like it or not, soft play has saved many a morning or afternoon since I had kids. In the past few years, I’ve probably been to every soft play area in Kent. These soft play areas are finally back open after being closed for months!

This list of soft play areas near Tunbridge Wells is meant to give you ideas for wet days or times when the kids just need to run around and get some exercise. I hope it helps!

The Minor Mania Play Centre is in Tunbridge Wells.

Minor Mania is a soft play area with several levels that offers a safe, fun, and stimulating place to be. They are in Bells Yew Green, which is only a few miles from Tunbridge Wells and is open seven days a week.

A separate play area for kids under 3 years old has a fish tank panel, plasma panels, and a smaller frame with a slide. For bigger kids, the giant frame has an astra slide, air guns, a helter-skelter slide, mouse holes, and an Edublock area.

Every Monday before my oldest son started school, I would spend most of my time there. We still go there often for birthday parties and just to play. Minor Mania needs to be reserved ahead of time. You can become a member for a month, which is a great deal.

Adults can use the free Wi-Fi and park for free, and the cafe serves a wide range of hot and cold foods. Little guests can also enjoy the lovely garden outside.

Sea Water

You won’t believe how great the Bewl Water soft play is! You can take a short walk to the lake and play on the outdoor equipment at the same time if you’d like. It never seems too crowded. It seems like it would be best for pretty little kids since it’s not very big. If we’re talking about little kids, have you ever thought about why babies’ arms go backwards when they are picked up? Parents Queries makes sense of it!

Please keep in mind that you’ll have to pay to park and enter the Bewl Water soft play. Worth the trip for a change?

The sports centre in Tunbridge Wells

The soft play area at the Tunbridge Wells Sports Centre is an “adventure zone with no time limits!” Kids ages 0 to 8 can use the soft play to burn off steam. They can safely climb, jump, run, and slide on the two-level soft play centre.

Kids under 2 have their own area, and there are lots of places for adults. As you sit down, there are vending boxes with hot drinks, snacks, and cold drinks. You can also go down to the cafe and grab something to go.

I really like Claudia’s Place (at Oakley Fitness)

In the middle of Tunbridge Wells, on the ground floor of Oakley Fitness, there is a great little soft play area with a cafe called Claudia’s. The closest parking lot is the one above The Range. I think it would be better for kids younger than three or four years old. Claudia is very friendly, and the coffee is definitely good.

Have fun at Playworld at Royal Victoria Place.

Playworld is a free soft play place for kids in the basement of the food hall at Royal Victoria Place, right in the middle of Tunbridge Wells.

During the centre’s open hours, parents and other adults can bring their kids to Playworld. Kids must be under 100 cm tall and always be with and watched by an adult. You can also join the Royal Victoria Place Kids Club for free and get special deals. You can also get a free Kiddy Car at the concierge desk next to Gymboree Play & Music on Level 1. This will make shopping even easier.

In the Food Court, there is a room called the “Parent and Baby Room.” It has private booths for feeding your babies and a microwave and bottle warmer to make it easier to feed them while you’re out and about. The baby changing and feeding room at Fenwick, on the top floor, is even nicer, though…

I love Gymboree Play & Music!

The Gymboree Play & Music store is great. It’s on the second floor of the Royal Victoria Place Shopping Centre, in a great new unit. They have classes for kids ages 0 to 5.

Lucy and her staff are wonderful! If you’d like to try it out, they offer a free taster. If you become a member, you can also take advantage of “open gym” times where your kids can play on the soft play without being in a class. Check it out!

Enjoy Hopper’s Indoor soft play in Paddock Wood.

Hopper’s Indoor soft play  and Diner is in The Hop Farm Family Park in Paddock Wood. It’s open every day from 10 am to 4 pm. For just £3, each person can enter the park and use the soft play area, which is good for kids ages one to nine.

Moms and dads can get a drink and a snack at the bar while the kids play.

At The Hop Farm, you can also find some great deals on party packages for kids and a lot of other things to do inside. If the weather is nice, you could also do some things outside, like go to the animal park, play on the giant pillows, ride the fairground rides, or go to the famous outdoor adventure play area.

Have you been to Maidstone’s Kent Life? This wonderful farm has a soft play barn inside, as well as farm animals, Cuddle Corner, Paint Pot workshops, tractor rides, and a lot more! Also, while you’re there, check out the vintage town.

It’s a great farm with lots of outdoor play areas and tractor rides. Inside, Clucky’s Play Barn has swings, ball bogglers, cannons, and a space called “sensory stars.”

Enjoy Barney’s Play in Uckfield

We’ve heard great things about Barney’s Play in Uckfield. Kids in preschool love the indoor play area and the small town where they can play pretend. They also have events for messy play, baby sensory play, SEN play, and LED play. It’s best to make reservations ahead of time.

This is The Dove’s PlayBarn in Uckfield.

The Dove’s Play Barn is another soft play just outside of Uckfield. It is as quiet as you could hope for. Things are made from real wood and have real curves. There will be secret areas, rope bridges, and a special place just for toddlers. You can even ride on them. A new inflatable course was added not long ago. There is an ice cream shop right next to it, so you can get something sweet on the way home.

Enjoy Adventure Kidz in Aylesford

There are sensory areas, a quad bike indoor track, indoor high ropes, and even a “make-a-bear” station in this place. It’s full of things that kids love. They’re open seven days a week, which is good news!
